Musing about Dawson's Creek and Joey Potter
Okay, I admit it. I'm recording the old eps off "the N" (tv for teens). I missed a lot of it first time around, and I do love me some JJ.
Anyway, I just watched the ep where Joey and Pacey have gotten back together, and they chaperone the professor's teen daughter's semi-formal, where she breaks up with Pacey AGAIN to go back to Eddie, who has just returned from California.
I never realized how confused Joey Potter really was. I mean, yeah, she's pretty, and she gets all the guys to tell her that.... But she really gave Dawson and Pacey the MAJOR runaround trying to decide what she wanted. Now, I would have chosen Pacey over Dawson in a heartbeat, and Eddie, as nice to look at as he is, is way too uninspired for me. But the fact that they all keep coming back after being rejected by her is completely annoying.
Now I know that she ends up with Pacey, and that makes me happy, since she chose who I would have. But I have to wonder why any guy would put up with as many mixed signals as she sends, and still be there in the end.
I know - FICTION - NOT REAL. Like the kids on 90210 sleeping with each other at various times - then finally realizing that they needed some new characters for them to sleep with.
But still.....
Then again, Katie's with Tom Cruise now....and appears to be in somewhat of a hypnotized state (or is that my imagination?). Will life imitate art? Will there be an intervention? A reprogramming?
