So. My friend and I were writing up a proposal for the school board for a project we're working on. We got carried away.

To whom it may concern:

We believe that adding visual interest to the band trophy case in the cafeteria would emphasize our school’s achievements in the arts. Also, we believe that the trophy case opposite the office should be used for art class projects alongside its current displays. Third, we believe that an updated picture of our school with its new additions should be created and placed in the cafeteria alongside the picture of the school before its renovations.

We hold these truths to be self-evident. That all students believe that our trophy case should be nicer that all activities are created equal, and that all students have the right to eat Subway in the cafeteria.

We have a dream, that one day, we will be able to roam the halls, as a people, without seeing the horrifying images of butt-grabbing and the congregation of prosti-tots.

Ask not what the band can do for the football team, but what the football team can do for the band.

By the way, if you have made it this far without casting us weird looks and yelling at us, you are a very trusting teacher with a great sense of humor (and you know us too well).

In order to complete these projects, we will need the assistance of at least five other students. This can be used as a senior service opportunity. The above projects should easily be completed by the end of the 2006-2007 school year.

We hope that you will consider this proposal,

Obviously, we didn't submit this to our actual board, but we did give it to our Contemporary Issues teacher. I think she enjoyed it. We definitely did.

I have a bit of promdrama going on. I have an underclassman friend who really really really wants me to take him to prom. So he'll be able to go, not because of me. But anyway. I'm friends with his ... girlfriend. Who is in college, therefore will not be at prom. So it's really awkward. And I'm having a hard time telling afformentioned underclassman no, but that's essentially what I have to do, I believe. It's all more complicated, but not at all interesting. Other prom news: This is my dress. I love it. XD

My other current issue is that a friend of mine is having a birthday thing tomorrow and did not invite me... after asking me to knit her something for her birthday. I did so, a long time ago, before knowing about the party stuff. I'm not heartbroken over the party by any means -- most of the people going aren't people I know very well, so it'd be weird, and I already have other plans tomorrow -- but I thought it was a bit on the tacky side.
