Welcome, everyone! This is a Skies of Arcadia RPG entitled Loqua! This is the most important post you will read here. XD That's why it's made from the future (OoooOoo. 2008. ;p)! This post will contain the rules of this RPG, how to join and some FAQ material!

So what is Loqua?
Loqua is a Livejournal-based Role-playing Game where people take on the persona of a character from Skies of Arcadia (a video game for the Sega Dreamcast and Nintendo Gamecube). They keep a Livejournal (an online journal) as if it were the character writing entries. They talk about their daily lives and their reaction to the recent happenings (news posts). Other characters may comment on their entries, progressing side-plots between the characters, or building relationships.
What's Skies of Arcadia about?
The game is about an Air Pirate (Blue Rogue/Good pirate... Makes me think of Robin Hood.) named Vyse and his journey to become a successful/well-known pirate and get a ship of his own. When he meets a strange girl named Fina, he decides to help her on her quest to gather special crystals which are being sought after by the evil Valuan Empire.
The game is actually a lot more cool and fun than that awful summary hints at. XD;; For tonnes of information regarding the game, please check out the amazing Skies or Arcadia World.
So what does "loqua" mean?
It's the "juice" that is sold in bars and restaurants in the world of Arcadia. In the original Japanese release, there was no "loqua"; it was actually liquor... And it sure wasn't juice. XD In the U.S. release on the Dreamcast, they censored many things in the game, including the liquor... Instead, they turned it into a juice called loqua. Loqua is made from moonberries, I believe. *can't remember* Personally, I think loqua is cooler, because it gives Arcadia a comical feel because they're getting wasted off of this juice stuff. And it sort of gives it a unique feel.
Why did you decide to use Livejournal?
I always thought it was cool for a character to have their own journal and to be able to update and stuff. ^^
How do I know which characters are taken? Is there anyone I can't be?
Characters who are taken, their journals, who has them, and who you can't be are listed in the community's info.
Can I have more than one character?
Right now, you can only have one, so that people don't hog. XD As we progress, though, if no one has taken that character and you are an active member of this community, you may apply for a second character.
When does the plot take place?
To be safe, I'll say the plot takes place approximately one year after the events of Skies of Arcadia.
How do I know what the plot is?
Look for the most recent "PLOT - Today in the news..." post. That will most-likely tell you what's going on according to the Daily Sailor. XD You can also check out the community's info for a brief summary!
Rules
There has to be at least some guidelines! Considering this community is small, the mod will read probably every single community and character post. That being so, she'll catch you if you're doing something wrong! If you are found breaking these rules, you will first receive a warning. If you are found breaking the rules a SECOND time, actions will be taken.
The Community
1. Be respectful. Please don't rant about how you hate other people or trash talk others. That's not polite!
2. All users are allowed to post anything SoA-related. They can be fanfics, fanarts, news about the games, whatever... As long as they're appropriate! There will be no smut or nudity allowed. XO Please put fanfics and fanart behind a Livejournal cut. That can be done by doing this: < lj-cut text="what ever you want" > To use it, remove the spaces between the brackets.
3. Respect the moderator's decision. If your post or comment is deleted, there was a valid reason for it.
Characters
1. When posting in your respective journals, please ALWAYS post in character. You are allowed to add out of character comments after or before your posts... But please leave complete out of character posts to your own Livejournals!
2. Stay in character when you post with your character!
3. If you create a character, or even when you take on an existing one, there will be no invincible, GOD-like characters. Every person has flaws and such.
4. Don't create fantasy creatures. This is a specifically-themed RPG. Don't even bother requesting a fantasy creature unless you have a DAMN good reason to.
Joining
We have an application process! If you do not follow this procedure, your request to join will be denied! Please read this post fully before applying!
When applying: As the subject, put: "APPLYING FOR" then either "A CHARACTER" or "AN ORIGINAL CHARACTER", depending which you're doing.
To apply for a character from the game:
You can apply as any, as long as they're not taken. You can even apply for crew members, Ann from Polly's tavern, et cetera. Some of the outlandish requests may be denied... People like the Emperor of Yafutoma or something. :P

Be VERY careful. I'm picky when it comes to original characters, because many times when I have started RPs, people make perfect characters and they get out of hand. PLEASE read the rules before applying for one of these. In short: no furries, no angels, no fish-people, no perfect characters, no Gods... etc.
When you have ruled out the possibility of you having a crap original character, you can comment on this entry and in the reply, include this completed form:

Game-Play
So you've just been accepted and you're itching to play... But how do you start? Here's some guidelines and some explanations, so you know what's going on, what to expect, and how to go about participating in Loqua.
What do I do about my user info?
That's totally up to you. You can make it long and complicated, or short and sweet. A good way to go about it is to include a picture in your info of your character, and a form such as this:
Name:
Age:
Sex:
Race:
Occupation:
... et cetera. You can add as much as you want. Likes, dislikes, background, anything you want. It's suggested that you try to expand your user info as much as you can, so that everyone else can get to know you character too. :D
How do I post?
There's two ways to go about this:
a) You can read the Plot posts and write a reaction post in your personal character journal. You can comment on your day and how it entwines with the headline.
b) You can post a character scene. These are posts in the main community, loqua, with a specific time, place and description of what's going on. Others will then comment, contributing to the roleplay with how they react and what their character does. Please use this format when posting a character scene:
Who: (Who is participating in the character scene.)
When: (What time of the day, etc it's taking place.)
Where: (Where the scene is taking place.)
What: (What's going on.)
Warnings? (Language warnings, anything that would be offensive)
-Body- Then the body in narrative form. Example: Sally was sitting at the table, knitting some socks.
-be sure to remember to use lj-cut!- (especially for long entries!)
