Happy Holidays!

While it should still be Christmas Eve for the most of you, it's Christmas for me already. Not that it feels like it mind you. It's not really celebrated here.

I did have an interesting family gathering yesterday because it was the day my grandma's father died. And on such days family gather to pay tribute to ancestors in what is called "bai bai", we burn incense and paper money, 'speak' to our ancestor, offer food (which is eaten by us afterwards). My grandma wanted me to tag along (for the food I think), so I did. And saw a lot of my grand aunts and uncles and a few of their children who I havn't seen for a while. I was rather quiet and when I talked, it was about how much I've grown, what school am I going to now and how much I look like my mother.

Another interesting note that happened a few days ago, on Winter Solstice, was the announcement of Harry Potter Book 7's title on JK Rowling's website. Apparently the announcement of the title was prophesized in Book 5 during the Battle in the Department of the Mysteries by two of the prophecies that were smashed.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

I know a lot of people found it lame but personally I am withholding judgement until I read the book. Half-Blood Prince sounded kind of lame to me too and it was really kept interesting because people wanted to know who the Prince is. Deathly Hallows does give me the impression of a sacred place so I am wondering if it's going to be one of the places Harry and Co. have to go during their horcrux hunt.
