BEST WORK EXPERIENCE/PLACEMENT EVER!!!

I just did the best and most fun work experience! We get an e-mail from our co-coordinator for work experience opportunities and I volunteered to do dressing.
If anyone isn't sure what dressing is, its helping the models change in to their next outfit. It was a really good experience :D

The show was at Moonee Valley Racecourse, the fashion show was for David Jones Ladies Fashion Luncheon...its basically showcasing what's hot for the Spring Race Carnival.

Anyways I had to get up at 4:30 in the morning, because I take forever to get ready as well as I still need to find clothes to wear; we have to wear all black. The train I was gunna catch was at 5:49, very early just in case I get lost...I was the first one there, I arrived at 7:30, but that was good though, I get to start early too, I was assigned to steam the men's  clothes, which kinda easy because I only had to steam the front and the sleeves because they will be wearing blazer over it. Then we had to make sure that all clothes were in order of when they wear it. that took about an hour and a half, so we had a lot of free time, since the show doesn't start until 12:50. So we just walked around the racecourse.

The models were all soo pretty and tall, as expected...there were 10 female models and 2 male models (which we were kinda disappointed about) and they were in their late 20's but still they were attractive...Even before the show started I already got an eyeful, I know I should have expected it but it caught me by surprise, one of the male models, Mark, needed the pants he was gunna to alter the hem, and sooo he just stripped down to his boxers right next to me while i'm steaming their clothes...he is soo cute, nice back view ;)

While we were on our break we just watched Brian McFadden rehearse, apparently he will be the entertainment. And we should have brought our own food, not that I'm not grateful, we get to eat the same food as the models which were fruits and tiny sandwiches, we were still hungry :/

Anyway on to the show, we get assigned to a model, soo lucky I got a really nice model, she even gave me a pep talk, helped me calm down by rubbing my arms because she said I looked so nervous, of course I would be nervous, I didn't want to make a mistake, even the male models were amused but they were nice enough to also assure me that I will be fine and I'll have fun :D , my model thanked me every change, one of the girls I met, her model just walks away from her when she's dressed, felt bad for her. The backroom was soooo small, it gets chaotic after their first walk and getting changed into the next outfit, everyone was rushing, and throwing their clothes on the floor. The girl's outfits are not too complicated but the guy's had to change everything, their shoes, shirt, pants and ties...not to be aperve but its not like I can help it, after I dress my model, I had to look around and observe and there were a lot of skin, some were topless because you can't wear a bra with some of the dresses, the guy's are right in front of me, I can't help but look :/ After the show we had to put the clothes in a garment bag and pack up all the shoes, it was the easiest and most fun work experience, I would gladly do it again , I might apply for next year's Loreal Fashion Festival :D Even the supervisors were nice and they gave us some advice about the jobs and told us about the industry, It was a really great experience :D

This is another reason I love what I'm doing, they gave us opportunities to see what happens backstage in a fashion show and we get to go to exclusive fashion shows and meet and see people in the industry.
And also fashion week is like a holiday for us, our lecturer's cancels our class so we can go to some of the shows =P
