Reactivation for game night recaps.

Dec 08, 2013 13:56

I haven't used this page since 2011 and I'm glad that I haven't gotten rid of it. Today I find that I need to start using it again...

For the past few months I have been using Twitlonger to update game night happenings, ( the ongoing story from our weekly 7th Sea gaming group.) Today I find that TL no longer works and I've tried finding another twitter longer service that would replace it, to no avail. Then I remembered this and said "f**k it!, I'll use this as the new game night recap platform and so from this day forward I'll be posting weekly game night happenings right here. The story will be covered and any other pertinent facts will be included, ( The infamous smack scores will be continued too! ). We begin with the recap from Saturday December 7th's game night. . .

7th Sea gaming recap, (Sat Dec 7th 2013), This week's episode, "Citrine's back! uh oh!" . . . (cont)

* Pre game - Coming back to my old LJ account to see how well this works since Twitlonger no longer works so screw it! We put this week's game night back a day so that Sairys could make it, if not for that we would have ended up cancelling this week's gaming. I got on the bus and went up to meet Shim before we drove into Burnaby on what was the coldest day of the year. This week we were missing two people, one was away and the other one was unavailable.

* Game story - We had some trouble getting things going tonight. With the missing players and the house being as cold as it was it seemed like we struggled to get into the story. However our group of heroes left the creepy Cathayan temple and went back down to the village. Once there we went into what amounted to an opium den where an old man met us. He seemed to know who we were and told us that Violetta had been taken to a huge manor in a religions city of temples and was held there.

We spent 4 days en route to that city and had to get there as fast as possible. The old man had told us that Violetta was scheduled to be executed in 7 days, (we literally had a deadline.) Once in the city we eventually found out where she was supposedly held. Having to bribe our way up each level, get passes to go up each tier,( 5 in all ) we soon found our way to the top. We soon came up with what our GM called, "a ridiculous scheme that wouldn't work anywhere else but Cathay" My character using his fog ability soon became the city's "fog demon". he moved about in his fog bank, leaving scratch marks on the ground, buildings etc. This caused a real panic in the city dwellers who thought that a curse had descended on the place, ( this went on for a couple of days. )

Once the ruse was in full effect I took the group in my fog cloud and hid them. We gained access to the building and soon went on to find the secret passage that went down to the holding cells where we were told she was being held. We soon found her and Garrett showed her that we had bought Citrine along. We got her to reactivate the automaton and Citrine came back to life. She slashed open the cell and Violetta suddenly thanked us for bringing her back in a way that was very disquieting. Citrine then turned a black and red color and looked menacingly towards us. We had been lured into a trap and combat against the formidable automaton is pending. That was the spot where we ended the night's gaming session.

* Post game - Very cold outside, the coldest I have ever seen. The trip home was uneventful. Nexct week gaming is supposed to be on Friday again. However, there could be snow by then and that could potentially disrupt gaming if its a lot.

* Smack scores - Lots of punishments were meted out this night.

Shim - 5 dice bag smacks.

Chris - 1 dice bagging and 2 dicings for crude comments, one dicing hit on the end of a knuckle, much ouch!

Lenare - 1 dicebag

Sairys - 6 slaps, 1 ear pulling, 2 ear flicks, 1 punch, 16 dicebaggings for a total of 26 punishments.

2 XP was given to all players.
