Corsets
At best, it can be said that Elizabeth had a tolerate/hate relationship with her corset.
While clearly not a fan, when the dress called for it, she wore it. A necessary evil, as it were.
When did she start wearing stays? How old might she have been? Was the corset that she was being laced into when putting on the new dress from her father a new form of corset? Elizabeth lost the stays when she lost the dress. What are your thoughts on the infamous foundational garment?
