Hey Rue! Is tha answer 'dimension'? Ya know, ta tha crossword puzzle?

Ta be honest, it took me a while ta realize that was tha answer. Heh, it was hard, but fun.

I was gonna go explore those white buildings with tha blue roofs but it seems like 'm kinda snowed in with everyone here in tha clinic ( Read more... )

You'll not have much luck getting people to talk about this homes, I fear, dome. They're a torn and scattered lot.

"Dome?" 'm afraid I don't know that language off tha top of my head.

's why I offered up an ear fer whoever might. Never know after all. Some like ta visit home when they tell tales. [Grin]

Not surprising. No one here speaks any language I know, and I know every language that matters.

An unusual man, then. What land do you come from?

I know lots of'em myself. Which one is it?

A historian, nothin unusual about that. Earth, Europe er there 'bouts.

Ilyigan. But you do not speak it.

Is Europe a country in the lands you know? I'd thought it was a continent, much like Eloa in many things. But when different worlds are concerned, who can tell.

Yer right. I don't, never even heard of it.

Nah, 's a continent. I travel all over it with my job so 'm not directly from a country within it.

No other here has. I find that I'm unique.

But you were born and raised someplace, surely. All men were.

Don't mind learnin it if ya want someone else ta talk ta in tha language. [He's all for learning new things.]

Wouldn't know actually, can't remember anythin before age six, 'nd 've been traveling all over Europe and Asia since then.

Is that so? And will you teach me one of your own languages in return?

You - don't know? ... I will never grow used to this, never.

Sure! Which would ya like ta know? 'm rusty on tha ones from Asia but tha European languages're easy.

Nope, doesn't bother me tho. Tha collection of histories I got in my head make up fer it. Not knowin tha past is somethin ya've run inta before?

Anyone you might care to teach, dome - mm, do you know the language of a country named Spain, perhaps?

It's nothing so specific, but that the possibility should exist... in the lands I know, a man's country is alive in his blood.

There's two, Spanish 'nd Portuguese, tha former bein more popular. 'm a little more rusty at tha latter too.

Heh, I see. 'm inclined ta believe 've got some Irish in me, but I still dunno tha place I come from.

I would learn both. I'm a fast student when words are concerned, and can teach you much in return.

Were you from my world, that would be impossible. You would know, and the knowledge would burn if ignored.

Alright then, 'll use tha opportunity ta refresh my memory. Won't take much, tha two're surprisingly similar.

Burn? [Slight sudder] No thanks, 'm fine with not knowin.

Biano graze, dome, and let that be your first Ilyigan phrase.

Of course you are, you've never known another way.

Graze? Sounds kinda similar ta Italian. [Grin] 'll probably pick it up easily then, if that means 'thanks' er some form of it.
