Announcement: London BiFete, Sept 23rd (public post)

London BiFete - Have your cake and eat it!

Date and time: Sunday, September 23rd, 2pm till 5pm (and some of us will probably be staying for drinks afterwards)

Venue: the back bar of the Mad Hatter Hotel, which is on the corner of Stamford Street and Blackfriars Road, SE1 9NY (the nearest stations are Southwark, Blackfriars, and Waterloo). The Mad Hatter is wheelchair accessible with a disabled toilet. It welcomes children, serves hot food and doesn't play loud music. In fact, we recommend it as a good place to hang out in general, so we're delighted that they've agreed to host BiFete.

Details: On the afternoon of Sunday September 23rd, the Mad Hatter Hotel in Southwark will be hosting a new event called BiFete - a free, friendly, low-key celebration for Bisexual Visibility Day in London. The details of the day will ultimately depend on who comes along and what you bring, but we plan for BiFete to feature:

Book and bric-a-brac swap

Story readings

Queery the Human Library

Magic

Tombola and Raffle

Craft corner

Board games

Photo projects

Music

and cake of course!

Plus the promotion of the bisexual community's projects, artworks, goods and services - if you've got something you want to promote, come along and tell us all about it! Bring a poster, bring business cards, bring artwork, or just come and talk to people about your work. (It doesn't have to be sexuality-related!)

We'd like to encourage people to bring books and bric-a-brac (for swapping), games, cake, and anything else that seems appropriate. Please note that this is a family-friendly pub-based event so any items brought should bear that in mind!

BiFete is a free event but you can make donations to cover expenses. If we have any money left over at the end, it will go to fund future bisexual events in London.

Want to get involved in any way? Email Katy via bifest2012 at gmail. com.

Hope to see you there. All flavours welcome (provided you're bi-friendly!)
