Right I didn't put much of an explanation on the myspace comments but would like to explain a little bit on here.
I've probably mentioned my mate Laura Mills before, but if not I met her through Hannah. Five years ago she was diagnosed with leukaemia, thankfully she has made a full recovery but since she has been heavily involved with the Teenage Cancer Trust (and the Christie Crew - a group that works with teenagers and children with cancer and leukaemia in a Manchester hospital.)
Back in September Laura invited a load of us along to a big event in Manchester (it was to launch special I.D cards which allow sufferers who have lost their hair due to treatment to wear hats in clubs etc) At this event they had a lot of guest speakers, and well without going on and on it was really moving and emotional.
Right I'll skip ahead abit, Tom decided he wanted to do something to raise money and awareness for the charity, and so thats how the band night has come about.
Hannah and Kyle then decided they wanted to help, so the three of them (with lots of Laura's assistance) have put in loads of their time and effort organising the whole thing, convincing the Kingsway Fellowship to provide a venue for free (ensuring that all of the money raised goes to the charity), recruiting decent bands (that would also play for free), contacting the local newspapers to raise as much awareness as possible, inviting members of the Christie Crew along and they're even on the verge of convincing BBC Radio Merseyside to get involved.
As you may have noticed there is nothing above about my involvement, well thats because I'm coming to my bit. Its only a small job though probably one of the most important. I'm responsible for getting as many people as can possibly fit in the building to come along so PLEASE, PLEASE COME AND BRING OTHERS, TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT! x
