It might not help, it might not be the time to mention it, .. but you might want to try 5HTP

http://www.5-htp.org.uk/

Started myself and they work like a dream, when I'm amused or happy i can feel.. i can feel energy moving around my brain that wasnt there before, but used to be. It's kinda hard to explain.
I tried Antidepressants in the past and to be honest, I don't know why the establishment turns to SSRIs when this is available.
5HTP is alot better, it doesn't upset the brain's chemistry and ultimately does the same job.
Ask your doctor about it or order some online if u find the time, 60 tablets for under a tenner.

Remember it anyway, you might turn to it later.

(just don't take them if your already taking antidepressants, what little i know about neurology tells me it wouldn't be healthy :) .. leave it a week)

Not a good idea to try mixing or changing drug's without taking a doctor's advice.
Yes there aree alternatives to SSRIs, but that doesn't mean that they are suitable or that you should self-medicate witjhout taking advice.

And different drugs affect people in different ways -what works for you might not work for Linz.

Linz i'd recommend talking to your gp about the meds.

I've just looked at the site and to be honest, i wouldn't trust them at all. The site's terribly made and there isn't muchinfo about the drug. Is it even FDA registered?
I'd steer well clear.

Muchly agreed, I could build a better website!

Taking anti depressants is nothing, its a tablet that balances the chemicals in your brain. It doesn't make you a bad mum. Get back on your tablets and you'll feel so much better then you can concentrate on you and Tyler and having fun with your baby!

you misunderstand.

The site is not responsible for the drug. It's made by someone who wishes to inform.

The drug itself it supplied internationally by many thousands of companies.

Also, the information i gave linzi I had hoped she would take to her GP and not blindly follow.

I would not have said anything if i wasn't at least slightly read up on neurology and had experienced the disadvantages of antidepressants.

I'm a little disturbed by the sweeping generalization you guys have made.
I know your protective, I know your worth it but consider the viability of my post a little more reasonably.

This is why im nervous posting on relatively public posts, it's also why i delete 80% of what i type after i type it.

I wasn't trying to attack you personally, just to give some advice.
I also have experience in the field of psychopathology and experience of taking antidepressants -i wouldn't have said anything if i was just of a 'throwing peanuts' mentality.

I also understand the drug is considered more in the realm of supplements (as in St John's Wort) rather than FDA-approved drugs. There have not been a lot of clinical trials to prove it's efficacy either.

I understand you're protective of Linz too, you're offering advice because you care. I just wanted to balance that advice a bit.
