Just been reminded that sometimes/frequently in social situaution when i'm feeling self-doubt and/or depressed I try to appear more confident than i am, and end up coming across as arrogant and cocky

And I agree also - at least you know what your coping mechanism looks like. If only all of us could have that degree of self-analysis.
