i have decided that i would really like to listen to people talk and then commentate on that. more specifically on religion. simply because religion is something that i have only been able to experience through a "small-town" scope. therefore, if you have ANY insight, whatsoever, please contact me. i will be calling different people that i know

Just curious on the reason why you want to talk to someone about this are you bored? going through a difficult time, just need guidance in life and are looking at religion for it?

I was raised Catholic, but my dad studied all different types of religion and he would always talk about things or demonstrate to us in a way we didn't even know about what he would read about. Basically I believe life is about loving one another and I believe God is about harmonizing that love, I get some of this from the Catholic church and some of it just from thinking alot, I spend a lot of time thinking, about lots of things. I also believe that everything has a reason and every choice you make will lead you on to your next path of choices. Sometimes I'll notice things, like I'll see a car run a red light and I think well theres the reason why I was running a minute late, or I turned around. There are negative things that happen in life but I try to think about them positively. Its like a formula if this didn't happen then this wouldn't have/or probably wouldn't have happend and I never would have met this person, or went to this place or saw that person. I guess I'm babbling but I felt compelled to reply :)

Church makes me feel peaceful I don't exactly know why, I haven't gone in a long time, I've been thinking about that a lot lately.

i'm so glad you replied, what you are saying is exactly what i'm interested in. my basic reasoning for doing this is because, i feel so open-minded about a lot of things when it comes to religion, and i'm really interested in why people feel compelled to believe one thing over another, where that comes from, what is their background for that kind of thing. My mother was, like your dad, really just giving me an outline of "be a good person." be kind to others and hatred is harmful. however my mom did it through more buddha and taoist principles of letting things go rather than holding in the hatred and tension. I guess you could say i want to round out my perspective of religion with the help of other people's experience.
