Long Time No Hear

It's been an embarrassing 24 weeks since my last post. My only excuse is that I've been both very busy and very lazy (seeing as I do have time to check LJ messages).

There is a reason for my posting. I've finished my second year of Uni and am currently enjoying four months of doing absolutely nothing. I was going through some of my things and came across some of my Harry Potter stuff that I've collected over the last seven years. Most of this includes old news articles, cinema clippings, stickers and whatnot... and I came across my collection of Harry Potter stamps.

Last June, the Royal Mail issued these special set of stamps to celebrate the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the end of the Harry Potter series. *cries* I had thought about posting pictures of these stamps onto LJ for others to see, but I had gotten so caught up in the hype of the book and movie release and then Uni, I had completely forgotten about the stamps.

So, now, with time to spare, I've uploaded some pictures of what was included in the collection. Basically, there are stamps (obviously) depicting each of the UK children's edition book covers, and postcards (of the house logos, including one of the Hogwarts crest and of the UK book covers). There are also these really cool labels with spell names on them. Basically, when you put your finger over them (when warmed), the secret of each spell is revealed.

Apologies in advance if some of the images are blurry. I'm not known for my photography skills.

The stamp collection included this summary of the Harry Potter phenomenon and the impact of the series on society, how the stories have been translated into 64 languages.

Some close ups...

Now for of the postcards...

And finally, the cool spell stamp thingy, that, when warmed, reveals what the spell does!!

And there you have it!!
