I think it would be awkward for me to read about them in that way, you know? It really doesn't seem to fit the "spirit" (for lack of a better word) the ship gives off. Do you feel the same way, or is a different reason for you?
I think it's close to the same thing. I don't really have trouble reading hot smut for a pairing like, say, H/Hr, because we know from canon that they can bring out intense, explosive emotions in one another. But there's definitely an innocent, serene quality to the H/L relationship as it exists in canon now - Harry is the intense one here, and Luna typically has a calming effect on him. Obviously, if they hooked up long-term, sex would enter their relationship at some point, and who knows, maybe Luna does have a hidden kinky side just waiting for the right guy to bring it out. ;) But somehow, reading about sex between them just seems... intrusive, for want of a better word. I'm not against smutfic for them, I'd just be far more picky about how it was written for them than I would be for other pairings. (I'm not sure I conveyed my point well at all, heh.)
