The moment I've been waiting for for such an obnoxiously long period of time is finally here!
The whole chapter was Aizen telling us how awesome and clever he is. Yeah yeah Aizen, shut your arrogant face. He tells us how he has single-handedly planned every event in Bleach regarding Ichigo since volume one. "Just as planned." Yeah yeah Aizen. Blah.
Apart from a moment where he loses his temper and attacks Aizen (and who can blame him) Ichigo spends the whole chapter like this:
Poor kid.
Of course then it gets to the end of the chapter. This is where it gets cool. OMG SO COOL.
Aizen is blabbing on about how Ichigo is a great little research specimen and how he knew this since Ichigo was born.
How? We sort of wonder even though we already sort of know the answer.
Well Aizen being the helpful villain that he is, like all villians, loves to tell us how his evil plan is so clever. So he says that Ichigo has been a special little puppet since his conception because Ichigo is a Shinigami and a...
AND BAM! SUDDENLY ISSHIN IS HERE! ♥
Who is so fucking AWESOME that his dick does his talking for him.
Isshin tells Aizen that he talks too much.
Which is very true.
Then the chapter ends. GODDAMMIT!
I'm so over the moon. Not only is Isshin a prominent character at last, but I also can't wait to see the comedy scene that will hopefully (god please Kubo, please!) unfold when Ichigo finally finds out that his dad is a shinigami. I can't wait to see Ichigo WTF-ing all over the place.
Also questions have been thrown up. Why did Isshin interrupt Aizen before he said the other half of what Ichigo is? So far I believe we've all presumed he's the child of a shinigami (Isshin) and a human (Masaki).
So... why interrupt?
Wasn't Masaki human? Well, wasn't she?!?!? If she wasn't then what was she? If she was Shinigami then surely Ichigo would have been brought up in Soul Society?
But wait. The major theme in Bleach is the experimentation of shinigami/hollow hybrids... hence Aizen's and Kisuke's crazy experiments and the production of the unfortunate but fucking brilliant Vizards. Ichigo is a hybrid. Wait? Is Masaki a Hollow? Not a low level rampaging 'I will eat your soul for breakfast mwah ha ha ha ha' type. Could she be an advanced Arrancar type?
Like Nel perhaps, who seems like she'd be a lovely person/arrancar (if there wasn't the nagging feeling she'd chow down on your soul once your back was turned)
AND. So if Ichigo is special. What about his sisters? Karin and Yuzu have the same parents as Ichigo. We've seen that Karin can see Hollows and other spirits. Why isn't Aizen interested in them? Any particular reason? Because they're still so young? Or just old fashioned misogyny?
I want to know.
This chapter more than makes up for the absence of Shinji. ♥ Of course, what we really need is a chapter containing only Shinji, Isshin and Kisuke. ♥♥♥ That would make me very happy. If you know what I mean. *laughs obscenely*
I'm also left wondering what the hell happened to Unohana. Is she just stood there watching? Whaaat?
