Update from Nay...
So here's where things stand back home right now...
The Kooluk are still occupying Iluya, and there's no word on any survivors on the island itself. A couple of people washed up on Nay's shore the morning after the... attack... and they found a few in the water here and there, but other than that, there's not much to go on, sadly. The survivors have been staying with some of the natives; I know there's a few kids the Nay-Kobolds are looking after...
Some more detailed accounts of what happened that night have been coming out, though there's still not much to go on. A lot of people on Nay have been saying they were woken up by a flash of light, and the few Iluyan survivors spoke of light that burned through everything... I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but it seems like everyone who lived through the night and ended up on Nay lived by the port, which happens to be the part of Iluya furthest away from Kooluk lands...
So it's still not really known if it's a True Rune, or some kind of other attack, but it's starting to look more and more like Kooluk's the cause. And if that's the case, the islands are probably in real trouble, 'cause they've wanted to take over for a long time.
To make matters worse, they attacked Obel recently, and took over there as well... though without the help of some island-emptying beam of light, thank the Shield. There's also reports coming in that they took over Razril... Apparently, the commander of the Knights of Gaien there handed over control without a fight. It's strange that the mainland of Gaien hasn't sent help yet...
There is some good news, though. The attack on Obel is rumored to have been mostly bloodless, and a large ship escaped the island before Kooluk could move in. It's claimed that the king of Obel was on that ship, along with a sizable crew. Nico has to be on there... It's also being claimed that the ship may have met up with pirates, though. I hope they're alright...
