I had forgotten how much fun it is to do a play. I've been doing Dracula with a local theatre group, and while it's about the worst script ever written, it's hard to care about that when we're all running around backstage, doing each others' makeup and singing Disney songs. Incidentally, our Dracula does a mean rendition of "Kiss the Girl." My big number is "Poor Unfortunate Souls." Ursula 4 Life!
We also had a group sing-along of "Don't Stop Believing" tonight after the performance. I never want this show to end.
(Also, I have the most bad-ass costume ever. It's period Victorian, full mourning with lots and lots of black silk crepe, and I wish it were my own. Granted, it's so long that I have to pin the skirt all the way up to my boobs, and the train gets torn every night because I have to drag Jonathan Harker away from Dracula's coffin, and then I fall to my knees and Dracula picks me up and sort of uses me as a human shield, and then I get turned into a vampire and do a lot more falling down and sliding around on my knees, so then I have to come in to the theater an hour early to sew it all back up again, but PERIOD VICTORIAN MOURNING, you guys. With a train and everything. So awesome.)
