Its taken me awhile to realize how simple it is, but after living here for so long it has come to me quite naturally. There is a certain art to the "con," and for a long time I was to blind to see it. I've noticed that I tend to con people on a daily basis without even realizing it. Its very simple to put on a fake smile and talk of the things that a person may be interested in. Everyone likes someone who listens, I've become quite good at doing so...or atleast pretending to do so. I realize that the relationship with Megan, the women in whom I was going to marry all started with a con. I told her that I had a great job, my own apartment in Hoboken. I was able to keep the con going until I got what I wanted and had her fall in love with me. I've also become quite good with judging people's character and play a role in which they would feel more comfortable with. If my target happens to be a city girl, I put on a thick accent and walk like I'm from the inner city...something that isn't hard to do since I live in the city, but what many people don't know is that I am an Indiana boy from the suburbs with family in the country. I learned how to get rid of that accent quick when I moved here because the way I spoke made me an open target to many of the kids in the neighborhood trying to con me out of things like money, electronics, or anything else of value. After studying and hearing the accents of the many different kids in the neighborhood, I would go home and practice and say words over and over again until I had them nailed down. A professor from school suggested that I take an acting class, I would be pretty damn good at it. I can play the part of the bad boy city kid while on the street with my friends and later in the day be at school speaking completely clear without any trace of an accent. I've noticed that I tend to speak better english than some of the professors at the school and everytime I speak in class, everyone stops what they are doing and focusses completely on me. I've been able to get people to lend me money in bars, buy me drinks, and pretty much beg for my friendship. I make friends with people very easily and just by having that skill, there are many benefits.
