Today our grandson turns the whole advanced age of 7. Somehow, I think 7 is a great age although M.Gabe probably has a fair bit on his plate right now with all the angst his parents are going through. We went out and did the obligatory purchase of a birthday present for him. It'll be presented at the birthday party for the adults tomorrow evening. I'm sure his mother will be delighted with the "burping" figure we got him complete with refills for the bad smell.
I also delivered one of my sewing machines to a dealer for sevicing. It hasn't been serviced since I bought it over three years ago, so it's sounding rather nasty and loud. And while I was there, a serger just jumped in my arms and came home with me. Funny how that happens. So, of course, when we got home, we ordered the new PC for FWS. He does need it. The old clunker currently on his desk drives him nuts on a regular basis. That particular gem should arrive sometime between three and fifteen days. He's going to be antsy until it gets here.
All of this has been prompted by the need to straighten out our finances. They're slowly getting way out of shape so this is going to be a clean-up and fly right from now on job. Hope I can find the right person to give us the money we need. We're sort of committed right now.
In the process of all this purchasing, we're both astounded at the way prices are better for what we want than expected. When we first bought a computer, it was six grand!!! And the first serger I bought was probably about $1200. Current prices are about 25% to 35% of those numbers and that doesn't even consider inflation over the years since those initial purchases.
Now, to make sure we really do stay within the budget!!! Everybody pray!
