So I don't really write in this journal anymore, but am thinking of starting up again. Anyway, I thought I'd paste my info from the friending meme in here, and maybe having one current journal entry will inspire me to write more!

What news channel(s) are you watching?: CNN, Aljazeera English online, BBC America, occasional MSNBC, and Fox if our boyfriend Shep Smith in the anchor :)
Favourite reporter(s)/anchor(s): Christianne Amanpour, Fareed Zakaria, but mostly the more reliable twitterers
Other interests:Cooking projects (I just learned to make thai green chili from scratch!), drinking yummy wine and hanging out with friends
Other causes/world issues you're interested in, talk a lot about, or know a lot about:Mental health issues, health care, glbtq rights, equal marriage rights
Other fandoms: Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Daily show, Colbert - I have an unhealthy love of funny tv
Favourite quote: "A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history."
A book or movie you'd suggest to us:I'm sure most everyone has read it, but Dreams from My Father is amazing, and always puts me in a more optimistic/hopeful mood which we could all use right now. Also Finn Family Mumintroll, which I recently bought in audiobook (read by Hugh Laurie!) to keep me busy when I was sick, is a really cute Finnish/Swedish children's book which is still totally fun to read as an adult. Mostly I read textbooks lately, so that's all I've got!
Your job/profession/area of study?:I'm about to begin my second year of graduate study in clinical psychology, my research interest is in the etiology and premorbid signs of schizophrenia and psychotic disorders as well as early intervention/treatment
How did you find out about what’s happening in Iran?: When I lived abroad in Sweden, my suburb was majority middle eastern refugees, and most of my classmates and friends were Iranian, so I've been keeping an eye on the election process starting about a week before the vote, and am now completely obsessed
Share a story/picspam/picture/what-have-you that's had an impact on you:
What really moved me was actually how excited and involved the people my age in Iran were before the election, it reminded me of how I felt about Obama before our election, and I thought that this could be their chance for change - having that taken away, I can't even begin to imagine how they feel
