Year End Awards Time
VIDEO GAME OF THE YEAR:
The nominees: Call of Duty 2 (XBOX 360, PC), Mario Kart DS, Burnout Legends (PSP), Hot Shots Golf Open Tee (PSP), Untold Legends (PSP), Wario Ware Touched! (DS), God of War (PS2)
and the winner is: GOD OF WAR.....
a few words: Hey Dave, remember when I told you to buy God of War and you bought Xenosaga 2 instead? Stupid Bastard. God of War wins because no Splinter Cell games came out this year.
MOVIE OF THE YEAR:
The nominees: Star Wars Episode 3, King Kong, Batman Begins, War of the Worlds
and the winner is: Batman Begins
a few words: Like video games, this was a bad year for movies. Though I liked Star Wars, I'm not sure you could make a better Batman movie or have a better Batman for that matter (and yes that includes Michael Keaton)
MUSIC ALBUM OF THE YEAR:
The nominees: Better than Ezra: Before the Robots, My Chemical Romance: 3 Cheers for Sweet Revenge, Keane: Hopes and Fears, Green Day: Bullet in a Bible, Goldfinger: Disconnection Notice
and the winner is: BETTER THAN EZRA: BEFORE THE ROBOTS
a few words: This one is no contest though Keane's extraordinary CD would win most years. Their first oringal material in years does not disappoint in the least. Here's hoping they stick with this new label.
SONG OF THE YEAR:
The nominees: My Chemical Romance: Helena, Weezer: Perfect Situation, 311: Don't Tread on Me, Keane: Everybody's Changing, Better Than Ezra: Breathless
and the winner is: BETTER THAN EZRA: BREATHLESS
a few words: Weezer's best song in years, perfect situation, charged on late but this early entry ranks easily in my top 5 songs of all time. It's a shame BTE did not release this song to the public, instead opting with more quirky, gimmicky songs, and a re-release. For those who will be attending Angel and mine's wedding, it has been determined that this song will be our wedding song.
TV SHOW OF THE YEAR:
The nominees: 24, X-Play, House, The Apprentice, My Name is Earl, Family Guy, Prison Break
and the winner is: FAMILY GUY
a few words: This one was really tough as all these shows were fantastic to say the least. However, when my favorite animated show of all time comes back with a vengeance and is better than ever, I have to stand up and take notice..... hats off Family Guy
Perhaps a few more awards at a later time, we'll see.
