In response to the unveiling of the Nintendo Revolution controller:

Interesting. But seriously, the only people that ever whine about controllers being complicated and having too many buttons are all over the age of 40 and wouldn't be entertained by today's games regardless. I won't deny that there will definitely be fun to be had with this system and controller, however it is heavily unnecessary in my eyes.

This is hardly innovation either. The first great hardware duel was Atari vs. Intellivision. Atari's controller: 2 hands. Intellivision's controller: 1 hand and it didn't make a damn bit of difference.

What worries me is not the functionality of the controller but the fact that it will succeed in scaring off alot of 3rd party developers. Just like the current generation where you see a ton of games coming out on both Sony and Microsoft's platform and turning a blind eye to Nintendo, the same is likely to happen with alot of studios not wanting to take the extra time, effort, and money to try and figure out how to port their game over. Much like the DS, the gap will be filled by many gimmicky titles that are appealing but don't have the legs to make the system a legitimate threat to Sony or Microsoft.

With all that said though, the Revolution will definitely be on my wish list, providing they have at least a few decent games to pick up for it.
