[He pinches himself. Still hurts. All his clothes are different..and...he doesn't recognise half the people in the family photos around here...but...!!!]

[He sighs, hanging up the phone and gritting his teeth, running a hand through his hair before punching at the wall and grabbing his coat, heading to Hughes'. He knocks on the door and waits to be let in.]

Hello? Hello?
[He scans the unfamiliar street, noting the neighborhood activities while pretending not to see Ed.]

....Oi. I'm not THAT small!

[He takes out a ripped family photo, Yuyuko and the drone son have been removed, leaving only him and his daughter. He then proceeds to nearly shove it in Ed's face.]
Have you seen her? My darling daughter who can do no wrong?

[Ed says with a weak smile and wave of his hand. Seeing Hughes again was hard though, and he was trying to keep himself in check and not cry as he gave a small sigh and waited to be let inside to explain.]
Better to explain inside,you know.

[He gestures to the couch, sitting down in a recliner opposite. His face changes to a more serious manner.]
So, Edward, we're not in our own world anymore, are we?

We're not. We're in a town called Mayfield. Various people were brought here, from different places and times. From home there is you, Al, Winry, me, Elysia and Roy, Lan Fan and Ling and May. They take all our powers and possessions away, even immaterial things. I got my arm and leg back, for example.
[pulls up a sleeve of his shirt to show him, flesh instead of the trademark automail]
Anyway, this place, if you try leave or get your things back without 'earning' it back through events, you get brainwashed like the drones. They are the ones who think this place is wonderful and everything is totally normal. Grady and the Mayor seem to be in charge, but I am sure there is someone above them. Grady's the police chief, their head honcho at the police force, by the way.

So we're in a big cage, essentially, and if you misbehave, you lose your free will. The big catch is that our captors are also in the cage, and allowing us some freedoms for good behavior.
[he shakes his head]
So, Roy's here? As in, Roy Mustang?

[No, Ed wasn't going to mention Hughes had died. Yet. He simply sits and peers at him through his bangs.]

[he shakes his head] I'm not sure exactly what I can remember...it was pretty surreal. The military back home has some serious leaks, I had figured out. The Fuhror's secretary, Miss Douglass, is actually a homunculi...then a beautiful lady with a tattoo tried to...I know this sounds wierd, but...her fingers stretched out and tried to impale me...I was saved by one of the other military offiers. Except...it wasn't really her, and she tried to shoot me when I was about to call the whole report in. Stabbed her in the forehead with one of my knives, and that should have been the end of it...
...the last thing I can remember is seeing my wife, Gracia, holding the same gun, a sharp pain, and wanting so badly to see my daughter one more time...
...then I woke up here. Wierd, huh?
