Hey, I'd just wanted to introduce myself once I'd actually had something to contribute here.  I'd known about and watched 1776 for a few years now, but I had only come to love it like I do withn the past week or so, along with American history in general.

And now, for my abomination piece of fanart based upon 1776_contest's "Supernatural" competition winner I ( Read more... )

Thanks! I'm very satisfied with the vest - first time using textures like that!

So...I guess I'll begin listing the things I liked about this, but since that's...pretty much everything about it, we might be here for awhile if I did that. :) I adore Jefferson's expression and the tousled hair, and I just about melted at the way you have him holding the wineglass! Oh, and the fangmarks. Love 'em! He's so dishevelled, and his face is so stern, but with the way he's holding himself, it's like he's trying to come off as nonchalant. I don't really remember the story, so I don't know if that's what you were going for, but if it was, you nailed it! <3 Lovely, in any case!

Wow. Thanks for the feedback! Much of what I was trying to get across came subconsciously, I guess. But I suppose what you said, about his trying to come across as nonchalant, was more or less an attempt to make him look like he's in some kind of pain from a sort of disease which, at that point, he knows he has no hope of reversing. I thought he looked hungry with restraint, actually, so he's going to satisfy himself as best he can (using the wine to curb his appetite) without going...ahem, overboard. I'm so glad you appreciate this!

Now that you mention it, I can totally see it; I guess the pain was where the "sternness" came in and the "restraint" was where what I called the "forced nonchalance" came in. Now that you jogged my memory a bit, I'm definitely on board with where you're coming from!
