Despite the fact that three kittens resided at his home for the evening, it was fairly calm.
Bast, to the detective's enjoyment, remembered him from when he had taken care of her during the week before Christmas. She still was so calm, peaceful, to the point of majestic. Really a little godess. Perc was intelligent enough to keep hidden -- he wasn't exactly fond of cats. Shoe explored his surroundings at first, but then seemed to ease into the new location, keeping a wary eye on Choker and Bast. Choker, though, wasn't that serene, pulling around the hat he so usually played with, trying to claw up Atmey's tuxedoes. They were out of his reach, though, so the kitten went back to wrestling with his hat, and slightly losing.
At the moment, the detective was enjoying a good piece of literature, Bast curled up in his lap, purring, while Shoe walked around on the top of his couch, where he could keep an eye on both Bast and Choker.
Peace and quiet. Just the way he liked it.
