Saturday was Cookie Lab, a friend's annual baking extravaganza. Although nobody in our family actually made cookies.
Robin was going to make shortbread to dip into the chocolate we had brought to melt in a fondue pot, but never got that far. I heard rumors that he was buried under a pile of younger kids much of the time. Ron made caramels, and I made ginger-curry scones. The responses to the idea of ginger-curry scones seemed to fall into two polarized camps. Some of the scones did make it home with us, but were promptly eaten for breakfast yesterday.
Saturday I also discussed icons and colors for a project with the Cookie Lab hostess. Yesterday Ron poked at icon designs some more, and I poked at designs for a publication, with side-wanderings into some related work.
Much of last evening was spent in Ron cursing at Adobe Illustrator. Our SWAG is that something has gotten hosed in the various color settings/profiles, so it keeps flipping CMYK color recipes we give it to nasty muddy icky things that only sometimes bear a resemblance to the intended color. Nor was it doing this Friday night and Saturday morning. I realize that "WYSIWYG" is a fiction is a fiction when going between on-screen and print colors, or even between different monitors or applications (Ron's second monitor, for instance, is useless for color work) but what we're seeing is *waaaayyy* beyond the expected differences.
Eowyn is much improved, she was dawdling around outside last night, and this morning ate a meal composed of unadulterated standard dog food.
