The Class Act Canada contest will award 10 deserving students from around the world with an opportunity of a lifetime - an all-expenses-paid education in British Columbia, Canada.
Provided by Sprott-Shaw Community College, British Columbia's education leader in business, healthcare, tourism, hospitality, administrative and international studies, each of the 10 prizes includes up to three years of post-secondary education and free living expenses for the duration of each student's studies in Canada.
All an eligible student has to do is submit a video 30 to 90 seconds long in English themed, “What would I do with my degree/diploma from Sprott-Shaw!”
Audio clips of the same length, or a written submission with pictures of no more than 200 words will also be accepted, in English only.
Applicants will have to complete a short online ENTRY FORM and upload the video to www.classactcanada.com.
Applicants will also be asked to post their video on one or more social networking sites like YouTube, urging friends and family to vote for them.
A panel of judges will select the applicants with the most votes after three phases of voting. They will then select the 10 Class Act Canada champions.
All applicants must check the RULES & REGULATIONS for the contest on the Class Act Canada homepage (www.classactcanada.com). All international applicants must be 19 years of age or older and be legally entitled to enter Canada as students.
THE VIDEO
The most important part of your application is a 30 to 90 second video in English, created by you that will tell the judges and the people voting for you why you should be a Class Act Canada champion.
We are looking for a video that demonstrates your storytelling, personal presentation, enthusiasm and most importantly what you will do with the Sprott Shaw diploma or degree to make your community better. It takes 48 hours (longer on weekends) for video review and posting.
If your video contains any nudity, profanity, obscenity, depicts under-age persons drinking alcohol, discriminating statements or violates the intellectual property rights of third parties, we won't accept it. Videos over 90 seconds or under 30 seconds will not be eligible for consideration. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, not to post any video for any lawful reason. By applying and submitting a video, including personally identifiable information, you agree to release the contest organizers, sponsors and all affiliates from any and all liability connected with the public disclosure of any information included in the video.
Acceptable video formats include Windows Media Video(.avi), .MOV (mac), .MPEG4, and .MKV (h.264). Files should not exceed 50 megabytes in size. For best results we recommend MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid, SVQ3) or .MKV (h.264) format at standard 640x480 resolution with MP3 audio. Resizing your video to these specifications before uploading will ensure successful video upload and display.
