college!!!
So I went to Lehigh University and Lafayette College this weekend! All I can say is I think I have finally found the place for me. I loved them both, although I am leaning towards Lafayette. At Lafayette you can do whatever you want. You design your schedule. There is one class that is mandatory your freshman year and that is just a basic writing skills class. Instead of going to a huge school, where I am forced to take lots of classes I will never need, I opt to go to a smaller school where I am choosing every class I take. During my freshman year, Lafayette encourages students to try a bunch of different classes so they will really love their major, which I think is very smart. I mean, how are you supposed to come out of high school knowing exactly what you want to do with your life? There will never be over 40 kids in a class, which is only the class size for a beginner's class or a class within a popular major. The average class there has about 15 students. I am just so amazed and excited that I found a place for me. They also have a fantastic art program. THeir studio is so great! It is also a cute town, where everyone is really friendly. During your freshmen year, according to students there, you live in a hall with about 15 people or maybe 12 and that is where you make your best friends usually. It sounds just like RISD. I loved my whole hall. It was like paradise getting to go home to my best friends. I would like to go on about it, but I think ya'll have heard enough...I cannot wait to go to college!
