I was so ill in the early hours of Saturday morning that got no sleep between 1 and 6am, then when I did get to sleep I didn't wake up until gone 6pm and missed out the whole of Saturday! Meh. I hadn't felt that sick in a long time, but by Sunday evening I'd more or less recovered. Brittany arrives back in England tomorrow and she's bringing me presents, w00t! Also I get paid tomorrow so there'll be a shopping spree on Saturday... but it will mostly be buying Christmas presents. In fact I imagine I'll have most of my Christmas shopping done by the end of the first week of December... now that'll be a miracle.
Speaking of miracles... in Football Manager I'm in the 2008-09 season, my 4th as manager of Sheffield Wednesday (I'm playing FM2006) and I've taken them from Championship underachievers in 2005 to 3rd place in the Premiership with 4 games left and the semi finals of both domestic cup competitons. Though my next game is the FA Cup semi-final showdown against Chelsea but my team don't fear anyone having just beaten Liverpool 3-2 away at 'New Anfield' the previous weekend and 'Chavski' at Hillsborough by the same score a couple of weeks before that. Amazingly my current first choice team includes 4 players who actually play for Sheffield Wednesday in real life, including: Steven MacLean, Frankie Simek, Chris Brunt and Gelnn Whelan. I have to admit that a large portion of my success was because my strikeforce was boosted in the summer of 2008 by the acquisition of Ajax (and in the game, Spurs) starlet Klaas-Jan Huntelaar for a bargain 3 million pounds (for some reason he was unwanted!) and he has scored 32 goals in all competitions this season and counting! Though in real-life he could be on his way to Newcastle, Celtic, or Lyon... I think I might have to have a word in Mr. Wenger's ear about that. Sign him up! Sign him up! Sign him up!
