Straight up, what did you hope to learn about here?

Long time, no update eh? Well it's been all go here at chez Guevara, in no particular order:

You may remember a month ago I wrote about my flatmate Andrew and I planning to take part in The 2006 Mongol Rally, well we're now a step closer: last night we trekked over to Ilford in East London to take a look at a car, and after I checked it over and had a test drive, we decided to buy it. It's a white G-reg Nissan Micra, 1 litre, 58,000 miles on the clock, good condition, only £250, bargainous! I drove the car back to Ealing and Andrew sat in the passenger seat quoting Withnail: "Look at that. "Accident Blackspot"? These aren't accidents. They're throwing themselves into the road gladly. Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness." *opens window* "Throw yourself into the road, darling - you haven't got a chance!", and then as we passed a group of girls: "SCRUBBERS!", it's been a while since we've done that, haha. Now we have a car it all seems a bit more real... we're driving to Mongolia! WOO!

Last Saturday, Tom drove Andrew, Brittany, and myself to watch the Colchester v Rotherham match at Layer Road. It was a pretty good game and Colchester won 2-0 thanks to a comedy own goal by a Rotherham defender (backwards looping header over his own 'keeper), and a good strike by Mark Yeates (through ball and a low drilled shot into the bottom corner). Colchester now only need a point at Yeovil this Saturday to get promoted; Andrew is going to that game of course but my commitment doesn't stretch that far, I'll cheer them on while watching Soccer Saturday. I'm pleased for Colchester, but their achievements could be eclipsed in my own view as Arsenal have reached the Champions' League final where they will play Barcelona. In a season where the Gunners have flattered to deceive, winning the Euopean Cup would be amazing. I can't wait for the final, but after that last minute penalty in the Villareal game I don't think my nerves could take much more of that in the Barcelona game. Don't even get me started on the World Cup, I'm glad I've got a few weeks to recover before England's first game against Paraguay.

Brittany and I are off to see The Upper Room at King's College tomorrow night, we're both really looking forward to that and it'll be good to see them on their own tour at last! I've got my fingers crossed that they'll play the Carling Tent at the Reading festival too.
