This past week has been mostly rather good, fairly uneventful but pleasant nonetheless. Last Friday Brittany and I went up to the Mean Fiddler in central London to see The Starting Line and The Early November, who were both brilliant. The only problem was that I'd taken a bite on the ankle from a mosquito on the Wednesday night, and so by Friday my ankle had swollen up like a bastard and I could barely walk on it. Of course I still wanted to go to the gig, but we had to watch it sitting on the balcony because I couldn't stand up for very long. This turned out to be a good thing as we didn't get crushed by the sweaty emo boys and scenesters on the floor, and we had a great view too. :-)

Brittany & I have been watching each other's dvds and videos since she's been here; we alternate between watching one film that the other person hasn't seen before every few nights. So far I've got her to watch 'Fargo', 'Grosse Pointe Blank', 'The Usual Suspects', 'The Truman Show', and 'Tansformers: The Movie'. Brittany made us watch Napoleon Dynamite', 'Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind', 'Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban', 'Detroit Rock City', and 'Love Actually', and an episode of 'Jem', haha. :-p There's no contest as my choices are the best, but I have to admit I enjoyed watching Brittany's films too.

I met up with Pete and Aaron on Wednesday night and it was good to see them, unfortuantely Brittany was feeling a bit ill so she didn't come along. We had some good chat and talked about Tom's ambitious (if a little foolhardy) plan to move to Canada amongst other things. The only thing I can't really talk to those two about is football, and what a great week it's been because Spurs were knocked out of the League Cup by high-flying League Two chancers Grimsby Town, ahahaha! Arsenal have drawn Sunderland away and Reading have got Sheffield United at home in the 3rd round, hopefully neither of them will slip up. Today of course is the ding-dong London derby, as Jonathan Pearce would say, between West Ham and Arsenal at Upton Park. I'm quietly confident that Arsenal will win, but I'm sure nickymogwai will disagree with me. ;-) I even had a £5 bet (I was willing to bet more!) with my mum this morning that Arsenal would win, it's easy money! (She's at Stamform Bridge this afternoon to watch the Chelsea - Aston Villa game). Okay, so I admit making random bets over breakfast is more than quiet confidence but what the hell... *quickly checks Soccer Saturday*... 0-0 so far with 20 minutes gone. Come on you Gunners!
