Back Home again...but not in Indiana

I went home last week, as some of you may have noticed.

A week is far too short to spend with my family and friends, especially since I apparently chose a bad time to go. Jake was busy, Charlie was...Charlie, and everyone else was either getting ready for the summer or working on some project.

Still, I had fun with them when I could and the main objective was met though not completely to my satisfaction. That objective was to spend a lot of time with my Grandma. I still feel I took the time for granted instead of enjoying it as I should have. I already miss her. And I don't like it. I fear what the day will be like when her good-bye becomes permanent. That's why i went home. She had to get her gall bladder removed and while that is a simple procedure, any surgery cannot help but make one think of how mortal and fragile we are...especially our grandmas.

I saw Pirates of the Carribean 3 on opening night at 8 with Jake and some of his friends and Charlie. It was okay that we were surrounded by Jake's students only because I knew I'd be seeing it again when I came home. I thought the movie was great.

(SPOILER WARNING FROM HERE)
I like to think that Elizabeth was living on Shipwreck Cove as the movie closed because if she 'gave up' her title to be just a mother that would be bullshit. She was too strong a character. I don't even like her but I feel it would be an injustice.
Possible the most satisfying death I've ever seen was Beckett's second-in-command by the hand, er, tentacles of Davy Jones. It felt so good. Besides, my favorite character was Davy followed closely by Barbossa. SO anything they did made me happy. I'll leave it there as some haven't seen it yet.

I highly recommend that movie.
SPOILER END

Amy and I saw the movie last night on our date, though she for the first time. It was just as good the second time around.

Further, Amy and I almost through the book-on-tape of Wicked we listened to going to Indy and back. We have 2.6 cds left out of 16. It's looking really exciting i must say. I think I'll look into reading Son of Witch.
