Kristi thought I should share my cooking pros with the world.
So I come to lj to post it online.
About 3 weeks ago, I thought I should start eating better, and not have so much sodium. This thought then evolved into action, and I decided to start making my own food instead of eating microwavable noodles/ ramen. I bought a rice cooker, and I began my journey. I realized that I really must get containers small enough to transport with me, and thus began my journey.
I brought the containers home, and I cleaned them before use. I managed to fill 4 good size containers with rice/veggies/chicken w/ cheese. I was so excited about this, I planned to eat one the following day. I put all 4 in the freezer, and the next morning I took one out to eat for lunch at work.
When lunch came, I wondered if I should eat it, because I knew it would probably make me sick, because it was my cooking. But I opted to anyway, dismissing my caution. Unfortunately my caution was well placed, for my food tasted like soap. The soap wasn’t that strong, so I ate it all and only had a slight stomach ache but nothing to write home about. Each week I ate one dish, and each time I tasted a hint of soap, but nothing to hideous.
Today, I decided to take the last container to work, and have my last dish of rice. I warmed it up, it tasted great, until I got toward the bottom of the dish. Unfortunately, a hint is an understatement. The taste of soap was so prevalent that it burned my tongue. Mind you Charity is use to soap, growing up and having several brands put in my mouth for what and how I said something, I’m not a stranger to soap. Unfortunately, this taste was so bad, it caused my chewing to cease, and a thought to cross my mind “should I swallow or spit it out??”. … I thought awhile and realized, I’ve ate worse and plus its in my mouth already, might as well swallow. I did, and immediately took a drink of water. Lets just say water + soap…. Huh… anyway I checked to see if I had suds in my mouth but I didn’t see any, but my stomach didn’t feel so good, and that’s when I remembered that my dawn soap also had OXI additives lol… so there you have it…. Even if I cook something goes wrong with the food lol!!!
I had Kristi call me today, and I told her all about it, it was so funny. We were laughing so hard, I had tears in my eyes. Once off the phone I thought, dang I forgot how much she brightens my day.
