Why You'd Want To Live Here?

What an up and down 4 weeks its been. After I did some painting for Max's film Yellow Rose in Formaldehyde, back on the Saturday before Halloween, I got damn sick. A sinus infection backed me up at work, since I had to take a few days off and have a quiet Halloween, filled with guilt and the lonliness of loss. Jeannine was around though, so that made it a bit better. So much for October.

November started off well enough with NaNo, but that's not gone anywhere this year, for a number of reasons. I had a lovely time with Pete & Katie in Southern California, after I spent Election night with Jeannine, Max, Jessica and friends at Founding Father's. The weekend was grand, but then I started getting way run down, and I ended up getting sick again on the last few days of the trip. Regardless of my cold, for the most part (excepting earlier comments about time spent with P&K), SoCal was a very underwhelming experience. Give me the 206 (and to a lesser extent the 425 and 253) any day.

So I came back to a very close deadline on the applications (which I'm working on now), a boatload of work, and a significant detriment in the word count. I'll be in tha' FLA (954 for ya'll keepin track) at the end of this next week. New boss and all that. I'm leaving a lot out, but dems tha brakes of being online. I really want these apps done, so I can get back into a groove, and get these projects on hand scheduled. There's like three of them.

What I have taken from the last few weeks is the lesson that keeps popping up: Let Go.
Radio fucking Cures, all up in my head.

travel, writing, mfa, film, friends, work
