Washington, D.C. handgun ban comes before Supreme Court



From the article:
"A 14-year old who asked not to be named had this illegal handgun on him..."

This is typical of the kind of gun used in crimes. Notice how it isn't an "assault weapon" or anything big and scary. Also interesting, is the effect that Washington D.C.'s ban on handguns has had on crime:
"Since the ban was passed, more than 8,400 people have been murdered in the district, many killed by handguns. Nearly 80 percent of the 181 murders in 2007 were committed with guns."

It sounds like what we need is a law against murder.
