The truth could be a harsh bitch sometimes. It could really mess with a person’s head. She’d fallen in love. Fallen so hard and so fast in only a matter of weeks. If even that. And she wasn’t sure what scared her more. That she’d fallen in love so quickly or that she didn’t know anything about him. Or that her mind didn’t want to remember. But if she had remembered… if it had come down to remembering then she’d know. The truth of the matter was she was only a mission to him. He’d been sent to kill her father. The truth would be that she’d been in a coma for two years. That he’d not come because her father had made him stay away. It made her believe that he didn’t love her. Made her trust her father more and more each day. Truth was… trust didn’t last. It hurt. Her father had betrayed her… and so had Simon. In the worst way possible. Her heart had been shattered and laid on the ground in pieces. And she wasn’t so sure it could be picked up again. Not that she wanted it to be. If truth hurt that bad then it wasn’t worth knowing.
