(no subject)
so, i didnt get the grant to go to colorado. huge bummer. probably mostly because i had aready envisioned myself so many time traveling through the mountains, camera and tin type equipment in tow. but i do love the girl who did get it, and so im glad it wasnt some asshole, because that would have sucked more. but i cant help but wonder... why wasnt i good enough?
yesterday was really good otherwise, had a good time in noels class as usual, because CAPITALISM SUCKS, and he is such the man. individual meeting i had with alaine was good too. people give her a lock of flack for being aloof, but i really think she is really a great teacher and has a lot of helpful suggestions and thoughtful insight. so im excited to shoot. im going home tonight and spending all day tomorrow shooting (weather permitting). today when i was really stoned i got all ambitious and checked out a 6x9, until it occured to me, i really dont need to be trying anything new right now, and returned the equipment about an hour later. i went to the library and got a really great book on annette messager, this really inspiring installation/photo/fibers artist, and a book on eugene debs, the founder of the socialist party and presidential nominee from the 1860s who called for abolition of the wage system and came VERY close to become president (this was of course until the capitalist got their hands on him and swiftly executed him). today i had marxism in the morning, slosh is also the man, i told him my heart was in london protesting global capitalism, i think he liked that. got some papers back. two b+'s and an a-. good.

oh! some of my stuff is on display at bagel rising now. go by and see it. not neccisarily my best work, or most current, but its so cool none the less. thank you johnny!!
helen levitt died this past sunday. sad, sad. especially because she never married and just made amazing fucking photos all her life, but the bitch was 97 or something, so i think she died knowing she had an impact on the world. must be a great feeling.
GOD i wish my photo crush wouldnt tease me so bad. what is he, john steck junior junior? yuk yuk yuk. i just have to make him realize he loves redheads that are tall with big booties and big brains. mmm... unlikely. wow this is too long. laterz.
