The skeleton crew threw her about the ship, and for the first time ever, Elizabeth Swann was truly frightened for her life. She'd bargained to come onboard only to discover that the pirate medallion she'd stolen from William Turner and hidden away was actually cursed Aztec gold. Under normal circumstances, she would have been quite excited to find real pirate treasure.
These were most decidedly not normal circumstances.
She managed to run away back to Captain Barbossa's quarters where she tried to lock the door to keep everyone out. The cursed monkey was there, holding the gold, and she snatched it back, placing it 'round her neck once again.
If they would not honor the Code of the Brethren set down by the pirates Morgan and Bartholomew, then she would not honor her own bargain with them.
She heard the laughs outside the door of the cursed crew and wondered why, in all of her studies of pirate lore, there had never been a chapter that properly addressed what to do when one was kidnapped by dishonorable pirates for a trinket that demanded blood to be repaid...
