So far I've only been checking it for materia combinations, so it's not really cheating. ;-)

Nope. He's in the Shinra Mansion and I haven't got to that point yet. I'm in Corel Prison, about to fight Dyne. He's already kicked my ass once, but that's because I didn't equip Barrett properly. But I want to get Vincent soon. I love him, even though my heart belongs to Sephiroth. ;-) I already have a Peacemaker for Vincent, if I can only get my hands on him. So far, my party consists of: Cloud, Aeris (I hate her), Tifa (I love her), Barrett, Red XIII, Cait Sith and Yuffie (the little ninja girl). I think Vincent is all I need now.
