Winter sky.

I am going to miss the winter sky. I do every year. I will miss Orion and Ursa Major and Cassiopeia. I always look at the sky more in the winter. I don't know why I'm willing to stand out in the cold air to stare at the stars, but I do it anyway. Likewise, the moon enchants me more during the winter. Everyone likes the warm weather better for obvious reasons. But snow turns me into an introvert and encourages me to observe the human condition more closely. Fall makes me want to travel and winter makes me want to be where I belong. Maybe that's why lately I've been feeling so out of place in spite of my wonderful friends. On Saturday, I almost chucked it all: school, Fort Collins, everything that keeps me rooted here. Indeed, I think the only things that keeps me coming back are those very friends and the fact that I'm so close to obtaining two very expensive pieces of paper that will hopefully allow me to have a job someday that I don't despise. Some days I want to live forever. Others, I'm content to pass on into the ebb and flow. Today is one of the former.
