The radio 4 reception causing you problems? (re: pain) Get Mr A to give you a shoulder rub :-P

By SQL servers, do you mean SQL Server (the microsoft database) or just databases generally?

Oh yes. They do not warn you that your body will attempt vigourously to get rid of it. Swines!

SQL server means that one particularly. I am uncertain as have not got the job spec as yet!

hmm - lack of a job spec makes it hard for me to comment (that and I've never used SQL Server)

Pi was not bad as a film - but as a number it rocks man!
From what I can gather, SQL interrogation and troubleshooting mainly. We have several servers all talking to each other here. I am not a computer bod, and have no idea what it may entail. I think much of it will be databasing as well, report creating and all that rubbish. Please someone explain the basic priciple before I go into an interview and look like a complete muppet!

Well, even there, you have a multitude of options.

Are you talking about administration (configuring the databases)?

Are you talking about development (creating reports or whatever for other people to use)?

Are you talking about being a user (running an app someone else has written)?

Given what little info you have, I'd say look into getting a decent book on SQL and a book on database design (decent introductory books that is)
