I wonder if it's the world that's not very fond of stories, rather than the people.

Maybe, but there are lots of books in the bookstore full of stories. I think maybe most people are just too distracted by other stuff to think much about stories.

I worked in that shop for quite a while, my friend. Book does good business. But there are some stories this place doesn't suffer telling.

You may well have that right. That's a pity, when you think of all the stories the people here must have in their heads.

Yeah... that'd be a neat way of learning about everyone's worlds, don't you think? They wouldn't have to talk about their past, cause some people don't like that, but just the the types of stories they had in their own worlds. Every world's got to have different legends.

I don't think a guy like me can count as a scholar! I just like stories. If you worked in the bookstore, you must have read a lot of them too.
