gardeners are noticing climate change.
locally, one hard core farmer-gardener family is noticing that the weather over the summer was pretty messed up. a cool overall summer, but a hot, humid july, like all of the rest of the summertime weather was packed in one month.
"but that's silly!" -- the naysayer might naysay -- "the weather is always different!"
then you don't live soil-to-mouth!
when you grow things outdoors, you come to realize the patterns in weather, nature, and growth. different areas have different habits, which is why farmers say things like, "the soil around here is ten feet thick! you could grow corn for years before you needed to fertilize!"
(at least, they did, until industrial farming techniques turned everything to dirt.)
q for the audience: have you noticed any strange weather this year compared to last year?
a for the audience: i remember, last year and the year before were the two years in all i can remember when it didn't rain or get cold and misty around halloween. the year before last was also the hottest summer i've ever experienced in this town.
