dude was overheated out in front of my house.
i live by the freeway, near an offramp, so my street usually gets the "QUICK PULL OVER" people.
little old man, nisei at least, with a kia, dripping fluid from the front. ouchhh. i know how this is, so i pretty quickly offer him anything he needs, water, coolant, a good nearby mechanic, advice on what to do and what's wrong.
his name was maury, which is a great OldDudeName.
i hope maury made it home with his groceries okay. his radiator was cracked, i'm pretty sure. if it wasn't before, it sure was when the room temperature water made contact with the hot metal. hopefully, he doesn't have a warped block now. i should have offered to drive him and his groceries home so he could get his car towed without running it anymore.

this week, we're going to go see 88BoaDrum at the la brea tar pits.. 4 more days! boredoms are organizing it, 88 drummers playing simultaneously at 8:08pm on 8-08-08 for 88 minutes. it's sponsored by nike, as a coming-out party for some bullshit line of bullshit clothing they're (probably) producing in some sweatshop for $1 and selling for $40, but the tickets are free, and it's right next to lacma. friday night, i figure, maybe go see the broad contemporary works, then hop across the lot to the tar pits and get a free shirt printed. (they're limited-supply printing tshirts on demand, with graphics contributed by the boredoms' lead. resale, maybe? maybe! but i'll probably like it too much. i hope.)
