the domestic trifecta:
* weak economy (+worldwide)
* rising concerns over the environment (air, water, water-based foods)
* political conflicts (afghanistan, iraq... iran?)

add a dash of elections, a pinch of housing problems, a handful of angry commuters, and a touch of rising food prices.
stir conservatively, then, hopefully, mix liberally.

if the power goes out in a large swath of the country (as in how the power went out in the east coast some few years back), and it turns into a heat wave, i wonder how likely riots are?

how likely is a longterm depression-era economic downturn?
how """revolutionary""" will electing obama as president be?
how reactionary will the "these-past-8-years-were-fucked-up!" masses be if mccain were elected? could it end up only happening in a rigged election? is it likely to happen?

will the next president be assassinated? (are people that angry?)

will there be a domestic terror event occuring within months of the election? (either before or after.) this could be environmental (earthquake, flooding, tornado) or social (bomb, crash, riot). (note how economic terror is not considered to be something that can be manufactured, despite being [arguably] the method which the united states used to take down the soviet union.)

how will the banking industry's dire, dire problems influence our nation's economic future?
how will the domestic economic situation affect the elections?

what will the next bubble be? renewable energy sources, or alternative automobile fuel sources?
when will fuel cell technology work well enough to be feasible in the marketplace?
what will be the next steps in exploring mars? when will we get people on the surface?

when will the arctic circle become ice free? iceland? the siberian permafrost?
when will polar bears go extinct? what's wrong with honey bees?

when will h5n1 jump from person to person and become a pandemic? what will the effects be? how many people will die? estimates say between 15% and 60% mortality -- will this pan out?

will iran launch a nuke? at israel? tactically at us troops in iraq?
will israel launch a nuke? at iran? at syria? at iraq? by false flag?
will north korea launch a nuke? at japan? at south korea?
will china launch a nuke? at taiwan? at tibet? at the united states?
will pakistan and india launch nukes at each other?
will russia launch nukes at eastern europe?

how many people need to get pissed off before the worldwide pro-business/pro-economic-liberalization worldwide trade/financial institutions become emasculated by popular demand? would that ever happen?
how many pro-gun-rights people in the united states would really participate in a popular insurrection, if it happened?

when will schools be funded more than war, domestically?

weeeeee! relationship status = happy happy
belly = full on kebab and mint water
this weekend, shakespeare in the park!
next weekend, yard sale!
the weekend after that, big party barbecue in the park!
sometime after that, trip to the redwoods!

i am trying to build both a solar oven and a rocket stove to take camping. our family has it good with a local wood supply place -- free firewood and free fatwood. but, a solar oven is environmentally neutral to operate, and so i hope we can use it more often than even the rocket stove.
also, it's bad ass to be able to cook without using resources.
it's almost like alchemy.

i want some chocolate, and all i have is a can of chocolate frosting. damnit.
