Up All Night... and not with the Boomtown Rats!
I am so glad that I don’t have to work today for more than one reason. First of all because I don’t have to work and second Jonas happened to get sick again. I don’t know what’s wrong with him but I guess that’s what doctors are for, right? I was up until midnight recording a “drum line” on my four-track with one of Jonas’ toy buckets when I heard him cough and puke. Which I’m sure you can hear on the recording now. But anyway, I stopped the tape and cleaned up the mess. My mom was up in the living room so she helped me out. He didn’t have a fever but I still tried to give him a bath. He didn’t want to do anything but be held. A’fussin’ an’ a fight’n.
It was around 2:30 am and after awhile he seemed to be doing better, starting to run around. I gave him a snack and some ginger ale. He seemed fine, until he throw up again. I cleaned up the mess again, changed his PJ’s, and laid him down. Once again, he seemed fine, playful. I couldn’t remember when I dosed off but I must have because I woke up to him crying like he was going to spew again and did all over his bed. I cleaned up again and gave him some water. He went back to sleep. Then at seven he hurled again. So, my mom went to Walgreen’s to get some medicine. When she came back she told me that the store is open 24 hours. Ha! I should have taken the advice of that billboard I insulted about moms.
While my mom took care of Jonas in the morning I drifted in and out of sleep until she left but I didn’t get much done. He vomited again but this time I had that bucket I was drumming on ready for him. He did his business and I tried to take it away but he wanted to keep it. It wasn’t like he was going to blow chunks again anytime soon. He just wanted it around just in case. But I cleaned it anyway against his protest not to and gave it back to him.
He’s lying down on the couch right now and I’m feeding him medicine. He seems to be doing a bit better. Though, he does want to eat, which is understandable. I’ve been looking up Medi Cal online, trying to find the application but I’m getting overwhelmed. My job is a sinking ship and they only thing they provide for me is currency. Though I’m hearing all this crap from a total wind bag, this 60+ year old guy who will say anything for attention but he does keep his stories consistent. But if you ever saw “I Heart Huckabees”, he’s like Jude Laws character, except this guy has nothing to gain with his stories. Anyway, my supervisor told me that the benefits start after the 90 day probation, as usual, but I have to be full-time, which I’m not and I don’t think that they’ll give me the times. I asked them what kind of benefits I’d get and they didn’t really know. Huh? Yeah. So, if anyone can help me out with information about Medi Cal or cheap/free medical I’d be greatly in service to you.
