This sounds awfully familair... This is pretty much the same thought I had a few months ago...

"I hate exercise but I hate being tubby too"

For me the first step on the solution was to simply cut back on what I eat... I am at least in control of 2/3 of the meals of the day... And because I can't prevent a big dinner (Living with a family who complain that you're not eating enough and you'll go hungry... when that's the whole damn point will grind you down after a while) [ahem] Yeah... I just killed the snacks, small breakfast, small lunch... Pissed off bitchy moods all day and a normal dinner

I'm not thin (neither do I intend to be) but I have dropped a stone and a half.

I've also started cycling to work... right now that seems to have started something of a reverse effect on my weight, but I assume that's just some of the flab (of which I have plenty) turning to muscle.

Just as a sidenote, I still have no energy and stuff, but that's only because I'm doing more on less xD

But yeah, pull the bike out of retirement, take a long hard look at what you eat, change it -AND KEEP IT CHANGED- And you will start seeing the difference.

Gets boring, eating such a samey diet all the time, but it's not as hard to stick to as you may imagine.

Cereal for breakfast with a banana, sandwich (thin sliced bread (boo!)) with ham, as much veg as you can cram in without reaching critical bite mass (the mass at which a sandwich becomes an explosion when bitten) and a lil mayo instead of butter, apple to follow...

Then if you're lucky or in control of dinners, something not too sinful for dinner. If you're not, usually, you've won enough ground through the rest of the day that it doesn't matter.

Good luck with it! I hope you don't have to resort to sport!

just_linzi has mentioned playing tennis *points further down the post*

There's courts in Hillsborough Park, a stone's throw from my house. Think it could be worth a go :)
