Harry had always considered the Burrow more of his home than Pivet Drive had ever been. Seemed fitting, then, that he would be marrying Ginny there.
The fuss was ten times greater than Bill and Fleur's wedding, and nevermind Harry only saw glimpses of Ginny here and there. She was always being whisked away to deal with something or other, Harry couldn't quite tell what Mrs. Weasley had up her sleeve. When the afternoon of the big day finally arrived, Harry was forbidden to see her, keeping tradition alive, Mrs. Weasley putting enchantments around the dressing room to prevent him from sneaking in (Molly had caught Harry creaking up the stairs to Ginny's room the night before).
Harry had been pacing in the garden when Ron, in his rented dress robes, approached him. "How you holding up, mate?" It wasn't like Harry was nervous, more excited really, but oh man, he just really wanted to see her.
"Fine. Where's Hermoine?"
"Last time I saw her, she was helping Ginny with her hair. I swear, all this wedding talk is putting dangerous ideas in her head..." Harry smiled at his best man. "Anyway, Mum wants to see you inside in ten minutes, we're starting soon."
"Right. Thanks." Harry nodded to Ron, and he left. Harry resumed pacing the garden, trying to remember his cues from rehearsal the other day. He stopped by the fenced gate, looking out into the field, and he saw her.
She was standing at the back of the field, her back to him. Her white dress was glowing in the sun, falling in layers down to her feet. Her shoulders were bare, and her wonderfully red hair was curled around her face. Just like that, Harry's heartbeat returned to normal.
He could only watch her for a few more moments, until she took a long, deep breath (so she was as nervous as him, good) and turned to head back in. Harry caught her eye, and she stopped. She titled her head and smiled, surprised to see him but pleased, giving a wink.
Harry had never been more sure about anything in his life.
