Beta Post!
The fabulous telm_393 suggested that a post for finding betas might be useful, so here it is! This post is for finding a beta or offering to beta works created for longfic_bingo. Just comment to this post if you wish to do either.
In the subject line of your comment, please say whether you are offering to be a beta or seeking a beta.
If you wish to offer to beta, make sure to include in your comment any information that a writer might need to know. This may include but is not limited to:
Which fandom(s) you’re willing to beta in.
Any specific characters/pairings you are willing or unwilling to read.
Any type of content you’re willing or unwilling to read.
Your strengths and weaknesses as a beta.
If you want to put a restriction on the length of fic you’re willing to beta - remember we’re all about the longfic here and by the rules most fics will be 5k minimum, probably longer.
Any other relevant information.
How you’d prefer to be contacted - by pm, email or some other way.
If you’re seeking a beta, try to include whatever information a potential beta would need to know - fandom, pairings, the genre/rating/content of the fic you’re writing, any specific areas you think you’ll need help with, the length of the fic and whether you’re writing to a deadline. You might want to keep some details vague in your public comment, and that’s fine, but keep in mind that the more information you provide, the easier it will be for people to know if your work is something they'll be able to beta.
